The first night Harry had a fever so the doctor decided it was best that while doing the bone marrow test under general anaesthetic they would take the Hickman line out. They don’t tend to use them much here, as often patients get infections in the lines so they favour the port a cath.

He will have this fitted next week when the ommaya port is being done. Because of this Harry is over the moon as it means he will be able to go for a swim!! Today he has also had the mibg scan which is a full body scan with a radioactive dye in his system which is just one of the many assessment tests they are doing before the treatment begins. The mri is scheduled for tomorrow so another busy day. It’s been a full on week but the prospect of a swim at the weekend is keeping that cheeky smile on Harry’s brave face.
